Welcome back everyone! It’s been a long time since I last posted, and this year’s season is well underway. We’re going to catch up with some of this week’s featured players. Let’s get into it!
Tiafoe’s Battles

Compared to his previous season, Frances had a turbulent 2024. He finished 2024 with a 33-26 record, reached two finals, dropped out of the Top 10, and lost six of his last ten matches. In contrast, his 2023 campaign led him to a 40-21 record, two titles, a jump into the Top 10 for the first time, and finishing 2023 ranked No. 16 in the world.
After his run to the Cincy final, Big Foe had a fantastic run to the US Open semis again, claiming an epic five-set win against Ben Shelton on the way. He did fall to Fritz in another five-setter, but his form looked good.
“I respect everyone, but I’m not fearing anyone at the moment.”
– Frances Tiafoe
At the Laver Cup in September, he claimed his first win against Russian Daniil Medvedev, the then World No. 5. Closing out 2024, Tiafoe limped through his last matches of the season, getting knocked out in the early rounds of tournaments. Remarkably, even with his late season skid, Tiafoe raised his rank to world No. 18, which is a good sign considering he was ranked No. 30 in July. Though he endured heartbreaking losses, Big Foe’s mental game is still strong.

Auger-Aliassime Continues His Mediocre Run

Starting his year off with a loss, defined FAA’s season. While having a 32-25 record for the year, Félix only reached one final, two semis, and a quarterfinal appearance.
To be fair, one of his semifinal runs was to the Olympic semis, where he lost to World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) in straight sets. He then lost the bronze medal match to Italian Lorenzo Musetti 4-6, 6-1, 3-6.
“It’s not always beautiful tennis.”
– Félix Auger-Aliassime
During the Davis Cup in September he played consistently well, winning all three of his matches in straight sets. Félix did have flashes of brilliance throughout the year, but wasn’t able to routinely harness his abilities.
